Bihar Board Announces 2025 Exam Dates and New Guidelines

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially announced the exam schedule for the 2025 academic year, along with a set of new guidelines aimed at ensuring smoother and more transparent conduct of board examinations. The announcement comes as students across the state begin preparations for one of the most important milestones in their academic journey.

According to the BSEB, the Class 10 (Matric) examinations will commence from February 17, 2025, and conclude by February 26, 2025. Meanwhile, the Class 12 (Intermediate) examinations are scheduled from February 1 to February 14, 2025. Practical exams for both classes will be held in January, allowing adequate time for theory preparation and revisions.

In addition to the dates, the Board has introduced several new guidelines to enhance examination integrity and streamline processes. One of the key changes is the implementation of a barcoded answer sheet system, which will help ensure that student identities remain anonymous during the evaluation process, thereby reducing the chances of bias or manipulation.

The Board has also made Aadhaar-based registration mandatory for all candidates appearing in 2025. This step aims to prevent impersonation and eliminate duplicate registrations. Furthermore, schools are required to upload verified student data through the BSEB online portal by a fixed deadline to avoid last-minute errors or disqualifications.

Another notable change is the introduction of digital admit cards with QR codes, which can be scanned for instant verification at exam centers. Students will also be informed of their seating arrangements in advance to avoid confusion on exam day.

Strict anti-cheating measures will continue, with CCTV surveillance, biometric attendance, and flying squads deployed at sensitive centers. The Board has warned that any attempt at malpractice will result in strict penalties, including disqualification and legal action.

To support students, the BSEB is also launching online mock tests and a helpline to address exam-related queries and mental health concerns. Model papers will be released soon on the official website, allowing students to practice according to the new pattern.

Education officials have urged students, parents, and schools to adhere to the updated guidelines and prepare accordingly. The 2025 board exams mark a move toward greater transparency, efficiency, and fairness in Bihar’s education system, reflecting the state’s ongoing efforts to improve academic standards.
