In a major step toward modernizing the education system, the Bihar government has announced that digital learning will be introduced in government schools across the state starting July 2025. This initiative is part of the state’s broader mission to bridge the digital divide and improve the quality of education for students in rural and urban areas alike.
Under this new program, schools will be equipped with smart classrooms, digital boards, projectors, and tablets for students. The state education department has partnered with several technology firms and educational content providers to deliver high-quality digital learning materials aligned with the Bihar Board curriculum. Lessons will be presented through engaging multimedia content, interactive modules, and animated videos, making learning more enjoyable and effective for students.
Initially, the digital learning program will be implemented in over 2,000 government secondary and senior secondary schools, with plans to expand to all schools in phases over the next two years. Teachers are currently undergoing training sessions to become familiar with digital tools and teaching methods, ensuring they are well-prepared to guide students in this new learning environment.
The government has also emphasized the importance of internet connectivity and infrastructure. Efforts are underway to improve broadband access and power supply in schools, especially in remote areas. Each smart classroom will be backed by a technical support system to ensure uninterrupted learning.
The introduction of digital learning is expected to significantly enhance student engagement and improve academic performance, particularly in subjects like science, mathematics, and English.
